Water Rates & Policies
**** If you are a water customer and are curious about events that may be happening each month, we always try to post updates in the message section at the bottom of your bill." So please be sure to read your bill.
To apply for new water service, you must come in and fill out a new water service application, or you can download it and print it out by clicking on the link below under "Relevant Documents." Be prepared to give current and correct mailing address, an emergency name and phone number, place of employment, and other general information. You must also provide a unexpired photo id such as a state issued driver's license. A $100 deposit is required, and must be paid in cash, check, or money order. We do not accept cards at this time. If you had a previous account with us that still has a balance, it must be paid in full.
After the application information and deposit is obtained, the water personnel will make every possible attempt to supply same day service. Someone has to be present at the home or business when we turn the water on. If the meter keeps running, we will automatically turn it back off. If there is a problem icurred at time of turn on, we will make every attempt possible to offer same day service, if the problem is corrected and we are notified within a reasonable time period. Weather conditions such as snow, and ice or emergency situations can sometimes prohibit daily operations. We will turn on at the earliest opportunity. City and Water personnel can not work on private lines.
If your water has been shut off due to a past due bill, it is $35.00 to reconnect during normal business hours.
If you live within the city limits, trash service is mandatory and it is charged on your residential bill. Days of route pickups are on Thursdays and Fridays, unless specified on the bill. You must have your trash set out by 6 am. If you have any issues with the trash service, please call the Waste management Customer Service number at 800-607-9509.
You may pay your water bill either by phone, or online. To pay online, click the following link: softtelpay. You may also call 855-483-5729 to pay by phone. Be sure to have your account number when paying. There is a convenience fee for paying online or by phone.
